1. Pay attention to early warning signs of bearing wear: including any friction noise during rotation or abnormal deceleration of the suspension combination wheel when turning.
2. During the storage and installation of wheel hub bearings, the bearing components must be protected. Be sure to refer to the automobile manufacturing manual and use special tools for installation.
3. DZD wheel hub unit recommends replacing bearings in pairs. If there is a problem on one side, the integrity of the other side is questionable for various reasons, so replacing them together is also a preventive measure.
4. In order to ensure a long service life of the bearing, the shaft and bearing seat must be carefully inspected before installation, but do not hit the bearing with hard objects.
5. For the wheel hub bearing unit, do not attempt to disassemble the wheel hub bearing or adjust the seal of the wheel hub unit, otherwise the seal will be damaged and water or dust will enter. Even the raceway of the seal and inner ring will be damaged, causing permanent failure of the bearing.
6. When installing a wheel hub bearing with an ABS magnetic thrust ring, point the side with the magnetic thrust ring inward, facing the sensitive element of the ABS. If you are not sure which side the thrust ring is installed on, you can use a light object to approach the edge of the bearing, and the magnetic force generated by the bearing will attract it. Whether the installation is correct or not is related to the function of the brake system.
7. Make sure that the magnetic thrust ring in the seal ring of the bearing equipped with the ABS device will not be subjected to external forces, including collision and impact with other magnetic fields. When taking it out of the box before installation, keep it away from the magnetic field. When installing these bearings, observe the ABS alarm needle on the dashboard through road condition tests to change the operation of the bearing.
8. Ensure that there is enough grease in the bearing. DZD Hub Unit indicates that for some unsealed bearings, such as double-row tapered roller bearings, grease lubrication must be added during installation, but sealed ones do not need it. Due to the different sizes of the inner cavity of the bearing, it is impossible to determine how much grease to add. If there is too much grease, when the bearing rotates, the excess will seep out. General experience: During installation, the total amount of grease should account for 50% of the clearance of the bearing.
9. When installing the locking nut, the torque varies greatly due to different bearing types and bearing seats. Pay attention to the relevant instructions.
10. To ensure safety and reliability to the maximum extent, it is recommended that you check the wheel hub bearings regularly regardless of the age of the vehicle.
For rear-wheel drive vehicles, it is recommended that the front wheel hub bearings be lubricated after the vehicle has traveled 38,000 kilometers. When replacing the brake system, check the bearings and replace the oil seals.
11. In addition, the bearings should be installed in a clean and tidy environment to prevent fine particles from entering the bearings and shortening the service life of the bearings.
